The Nicki Mads was born as a university project where the founders Lara and Carla were studying Graphic Design. The project briefing was to create an illustration Fanzine for “Libros Mutantes”, the most known art book fair in Madrid.
What started as a university project linked these two designers, who from the affection and love for design continued with the project to this day and became best friends in the meantime.
Nicki Mads artistic approach combines contemporary influences with their own style.
Process
Visual Style
Use of clean lines and bold compositions, characteristic of today's Graphic Design, with a focus on digital or hybrid aesthetics. Attention-grabbing color palettes, influenced by urban trends, rnb culture and Contemporary Design. Nicki Mads is reflecting urban experiences, human emotions or modern dynamics, resonating with life in a big city like Madrid.
Influences
Madrid is an artistic and multicultural metropolis that imbue our illustrations with local and international elements. We include feminist themes, diversity and female empowerment in our art work. We Incorporating elements from music, film or even personalities. Our modern style lends itself to both commercial projects as well as more personal and conceptual works.
